Homecoming - Homecoming Dance

homecoming limousine The homecoming dance is a great time to reconnect with friends from the past and look great doing so. Homecoming is an event that has different traditions, depending on what town you live in and where you are going to school. The homecoming may be a great social gathering at the beginning of the school year to welcome back former residents and alumni. This welcome back event may take the form of a homecoming dance. Homecoming dances can be informal or formal events to welcome college or high school students back to school. Homecoming dances can be a great way for people to see friends or colleagues to meet up again and reconnect.

The homecoming dance can also be built around a central event, such as a football game or a banquet. A homecoming dance can built around a sporting event, and usually supports the local high school or college. Most homecoming dances are connected with the opening football game of the year. During homecoming events, homecoming queen and homecoming kings that have been chosen appear before the local crowd to wave and make the community proud. Homecoming events include ceremonies on the high school or college's home football stadium, a homecoming parade featuring the homecoming king and queen as well as the marching band, pep rally for the homecoming queen and, of course, the homecoming dance.

The pep rally for the homecoming queen and king is also known as the coronation ceremony. Many high schools still hold a rally during homecoming week. The homecoming coronation events may include games, skits, the presentation of the homecoming court, and the coronation of the queen and king. The rally will also often center around the local sporting events and preps from the local sports athletes and coaches about the upcoming game. At some colleges and high schools, the homecoming coronation ends with a bonfire where old wood and materials symbolizing the rival school is burned. The homecoming rally on the whole is meant to boost morale for the school and community and raise spirits. Homecoming rallies and homecoming dances are not as prevalent as they used to be. Some people now see the crowning of the king and queen as nothing but a popularity contest that puts down less popular kids. Other times, there have been cases of injury to crowds participating in homecoming rallies as a result of frenzied activities and underage drinking. Nonetheless, with careful crowd control and enforcement of drinking laws, many schools find homecoming rallies create a good source of pride for students and community members.

The homing dance, usually the concluding event of the week, is a semi-formal or formal occasion on the school grounds or in a private banquet hall. The hall is decorated beautifully, usually with the school colors. The event takes place under the lights or under the stars with a live band or DJ to play the music. One key event during the homecoming dance is a slow dance between the king and queen. The queen and king are usually illuminated to highlight their slow dance. Police and chaperones are on hand to insure the safety of everyone at this great event. After the dance, the king and queen are free to dance with their friends or date. Sometimes the school's alumni will gather at another nearby location to mingle and reunite with old friends. At Boston Limo, we want to be ones to escort you to your homecoming dance. We want you to be able to enjoy a few glasses of champagne if you so desire. We want to help you show up in style and leave all the work up to us.
